I first met Vroni and Freddy at the mountain wedding of their friends. A little later, they reached out and invited me to photograph not just one, but two celebrations of their own: an outdoor wedding in Austria and a civil ceremony in Bavaria, Germany.

Before it all began, we met for this engagement session at Lake Walchensee in Germany. We had originally planned for a “winterwonderland” shooting in the snow, which surprisingly had melted only a few days before. Looking back now, I wouldn’t have wanted it any other way. The soft light and the golden grass brought a warmth and quietness to these photographs that couldn’t have been planned.
