Max and Deborah had envisioned an autumn sunrise session, but nature had different plans. The sun stayed hidden behind thick clouds, swapping golden morning light for dramatic skies and moody landscapes. What could have felt disappointing at first quickly became one of my favourite parts of the entire session.

Later that same day, we were greeted by sunshine in Innsbruck. The contrast between nature and city, rain and sunshine, gave the images a completely different look and feel. You could almost believe they were taken on two entirely separate days.

Interestingly enough, this weather “pattern” repeated itself almost exactly one year later on their wedding day. The sky opened up once again, bringing plenty of rain along with it. I always like to call it happy tears for the couple. And just when we thought the weather had already shown us everything it had to offer, a rainbow appeared above the fields, followed by one of the most intense sunsets I’ve ever seen here in Tyrol.

It was, without a doubt, a day none of us will ever forget.
